Lone - Unique Design Hotel

"Lone is definitely one of the greatest Hotels I have seen in a long time. It's a perfect mixture of modern architecture, great design, pure pleasure & relaxation - and all of this at a great spot."

Facts
- medium-sized five star Design Hotel in Rovinj (Croatia)
- located next to the sea and near the picturesque old town of Rovinj
- spa, lounge and different restaurants
- kids welcome, miniclub available
- conference center

Design
A minimalistic and modern architectural concept from 3LHD has been realised very stringent, beginning with the building itself (stunning! reminding a bit of big ocean liner...) to the great artwork of the menus and brochures, bringing nature inside with hanging gardens, involving artwork by Ivana Franke and Silvio Vuijcic and ending with the selection of the beautiful, fitting designer furniture from e.g. Moroso and the architects working together with the designer team Numen/ForUse. We loved the Tio Lounge Chairs (Massproduction) in the Lobby Bar, great design and sooooo comfortable. There are different styles of restaurants available (including a Sushi Bar - awesome Tuna Carpaccio) and a overwhelming Spa (fully in black and very straight). At the moment the pool of the neighbour Hotel can be used, but in 2013 Lone gets its own huge pool area (I've already seen first pictures - convincing!), which fits to the style of the Hotel and makes the "Lone Experience" completely perfect.

Around
The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful forest which borders the sea (with lots of great little inlets). It's perfect for taking a walk, running, cycling, swimming, snorkeling and catching little crabs and shrimps. On the other side you can walk next to the sea on a nice promenade to the old town of Rovinj - which not only looks stunning but where you can find lots of nice restaurants and bars and also the harbour. Taste the ice cream at one of the gelaterias!

Conclusion
Lone is definitely one of the greatest Hotels I have seen in a long time. It's a perfect mixture of modern architecture, great design, pure pleasure & relaxation - and all of this at a great spot. All the people have been very friendly and supportive. Lone can wholeheartedly be recommended also to families with kids - Stokke chairs are available... ;-) Enjoying great food or pure relaxtion in the Hotel, going to one of  the beautiful and romantic beaches in the inlets nearby or walking on the promenade to the wonderful old town of Rovinj - anyway you will experience awesome holidays!

Hotel Daniel

SMART LUXURY AT A FAIR PRICE.

Facts

- affordable Design Hotel in Graz (Styria/Austria)
- near railwaystation and the historic old town
- large public "loft"-area, espresso bar
- 101 guestrooms
- vespa or bikeboard for 15 € per day

Design

Influenced by the 1950s, the berlin designer Werner Aisslinger arranged very functional small rooms, which are modern and offer smart luxury. F
or young, dynamic travellers a wardrobe is not essential, so you'll find clothes rails. The bathroom is small but elegant, and well integrated in the room. A long bench, upholstered with blue or green felt, invites to read a book or surf in the internet. In the "loft -area" you'll find classics like the Eames Lounge Chair or other Vitra Chairs, and the dishes are based on the typical austrian 1950ies Lilienporzellan "Daisy".

Around

Near the main railwaystation of Graz the Hotel Daniel is very easy to reach.
2003 Graz was cultural capital of europe. So there are a lot of cultural spots to visit. The Kunsthaus shows contemporary art, you can visit the "Grazer Uhrturm" at the "Schloßberg" or the beautifull historic old town and many other highlights.

Conclusion
If you appreciate modern and elegant accomodation, you should book Hotel Daniel on your next trip to Graz. You will like the rooms as well as the service and the ambiente, and also the substantial and delicious breakfast (great espresso included) will exceed your expectations. And all of this for a more than fair and competitive price. Enjoy!

Graz’s Design and Lifestyle Hotel Daniel was awarded the ‘Hotelimmobilie 2006’, Europe’s highest accolade for hotels, on October 25, 2006. This marks the first time that an Austrian hotel has ever received the award.
‘Budget and design is what we call our strategic marketing approach, which enables young people to enjoy attractive design and trendy interiors. Modern lifestyle hotels will only have a future if they’re smart, chic, and above all affordable,’ explained Florian Weitzer

Our maxim is really very simple and is made to fit an innovative, contemporary approach to travel: at the Daniel, which incidentally enjoys a perfect location in Graz, the modern traveller finds everything he or she needs to stay fast and flexible. But nothing which will prevent or restrict their mobility. You could call it well thought-out, focussed streamlining. But we prefer to call it “Smart Luxury” – it somehow sounds better.

This is an approach which influences everything that we do. And everything we don’t, for that matter. “Smart Luxury” decides everything which you find in the Hotel Daniel. Together with our good taste and flair for style, it also decides the Daniel’s image, which is dominated by a timeless aesthetic. And we would like to think that in this respect, we really are sitting pretty. 107 rooms, with features which aren’t just in step with your needs, but rather a few steps ahead. A lobby where you can relax, meet, work and access the Internet free of charge. But that’s not all! You will also find a toothbrush vending machine, an espresso bar and five Vespas waiting for you to take them out for a spin. Every morning there is also what is reported to be the best breakfast in Graz. The centre of this exciting, laid-back city is just a 10-minute walk away and we would also recommend…
